From its inception more than 20 years ago, in a world of office seating products that are often "cobbled together" from generic industry components, SSI recognized the importance of excellent industrial design, and retained internationally recognized designers such as Robert Taylor Whalen to distill concepts into visually appealing and durable products.

The design community has embraced SSI products because of their design integrity and quality, resulting in major projects throughout North America. These projects have included call centers for MasterCard, Telus Mobility, Equitable Life, Citadel Life, The Redstone Rocket Arsenal and patent offices for the US Government.
